Air China's April cargo volume up 13.4pc to 105,600 tonnes

THE latest operational results posted by Air China showed that the carrier registered a cargo and mail volume of 105,600 tonnes in April, up 13.4 per cent year on year and 0.4 per cent over March.


Passenger volume increased 9.5 per cent year on year and 5.5 per cent over March to 4.16 million, Xinhua reports.


In the cargo sector, the carrier's capacity increased 12.5 per cent this month. Turnover volume increased 13.4 per cent. Load factor grew 0.5 percentage points to 60 per cent.


As for the passenger aspect, the total capacity increased by 8.9 per cent and total turnover volume increased 12.7 per cent. Load factor went up 2.8 percentage points to 82.9 per cent. Domestic capacity grew seven per cent and turnover volume climbed 13.9 per cent. International capacity went 12.7 per cent up while turnover volume rose 10.9 per cent. Capacity of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan routes increased five per cent while turnover volume went up 9.3 per cent.
