On January 29, Small-Scale WTO Ministerial Meeting on Doha Round Negotiations was held in Davos. Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming said at the meeting that China would like to take a positive and pragmatic attitude to work with other countries in making the Doha Round Negotiations a success at the end of 2011.

Chen said that an early conclusion of the Doha Round Negotiations could meet the requirement of global economic recovery, and serves the common interests of all countries, and if we don't grasp the “window of opportunity” of 2011, it will slip away. China support the schedule proposed by WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy to push forward in earnest the negotiation process.

Chen stressed that all parties should set practical goals in accordance with the ambition level, and lock the achievements, stick to Doha Development Agenda (DDA), while focusing primarily on pending issues, to ensure that an early final deal could be reached.

The Small-Scale WTO Ministerial Meeting, held on the sidelines of the Davos World Economic Forum, was convened by Swiss Minister of Economic Affairs, and trade ministers from 27 WTO members attended the meeting.
