The current stance in the GCC region is the focus in achieving the 2030 vision – a region which is supported by an efficient and reliable urban transport integration, which is both sustainable and contributes to increased city development. The challenges to achieve this vision are aplenty, as transport integration is top priority for the Middle East, and most of all, to the GCC region. The main objective is to accommodate the rising demand for more efficient and easily accessible public transportation means which practices a safe and cost effective solution for the public.

Public transport is developing at a rapid rate in the Middle East, whereas the general public has massive dependency in the use of private vehicles. Thus, current utilisation rate is very low and almost non existent in a few countries due to insufficient public transport means and lack of service sustainability. The governments involved have invested heavily and underlining their long and short term plans in driving the region to accommodate the population growth in order to ease the increasing congestion in public roads and transport connections.

This forum is going to tackle the challenges and impending issues which has to be overcome in the process of integrating sufficient transport systems in an urban area. The event will feature a high profile panel which includes government officials, regional and international transport specialists who will be showcasing the necessary measures to develop an integrated multi transport system and managing the new implementations effectively.

The Middle East Urban Integrated Transportation forum will be exploring the importance and facilitation of infrastructure planning, safety and public security aspects of transport implementations, and showcasing the emerging technology in the public transportation sector.
