Rizhao-Korea passenger-cargo shipping service recommences

THE passenger and cargo shipping service between Shandong province's port of Rizhao and South Korea's port of Pyeongtaek recently resumed after being suspended two years ago, Xinhua reports.


The service was operated by Rizhao Haitong Ferry Co Ltd, a Sino-Korean joint venture, offering three sailings a week. The maiden voyage carried 640 passengers and 230 TEU.


Being the only international passenger and cargo shipping service in Rizhao, the line was first launched in July 2003 and suspended in 2008 due to world economic downturn.
