Sweden’s Gavle goes Hogia

Jun 8, 2011 Port

Gävle Stevedoring Company (GSSC) in Sweden’s Port of Gävle expects to get more business and develop into an efficient logistics hub for the region by investing in an IT solution from Hogia Terminal Systems.

As a result, Hogia has upgraded its Hogia Terminal Cargo system to the latest Microsoft technology (.Net). This has enabled Hogia to introduce a modern and flexible user interface, extended capabilities to produce customised reports and improved interfaces in the hand units.

The Port of Gävle is one of Sweden's nine largest ports and handles various commodities including paper, coffee, sawn timber, oil, steel. GSSC, owned by the port has implemented Hogia Terminal to deliver real-time information about cargo status electronically to its IT systems. It will provide traceability and the ability to analyse the flow, which in turn will create opportunities for GSSC to develop and optimise its operations.

As a result of the implementation, GSSC‘s investment in Hogia Terminal Cargo goes hand in hand with the expansion of the port and harbour channel to increase the port's attractiveness and capacity.
