Chongqing river port's throughput up 1.6 pc in first two months

RIVER ports in central China's Chongqing city registered a 1.6 per cent growth in throughput to 837,000 tonnes in the first two months with a value of US$950 million, up 31.7 per cent, reports Xinhua.

The export volume increased 56.9 per cent to 225,000 tonnes while the imports fell 10.1 per cent to 612,000 tonnes. The export cargo value grew 43.1 per cent to $520 million and the import cargo value increased 20.1 per cent to $430 million.
