GAC Netherlands has opened a Logistics & Maritime Service Centre to increase efficiency, improve customer services and bring its ship spares logistics and freight forwarding operations under one roof at Europe's busiest port.
Situated in Pernis, Rotterdam, the new office and warehouse complex is strategically located at the heart of the port in the Distriport Benelux area, with access to nearby motorway connections and harbours as well as direct waterway and railway connections.
According to managing director Ries Hoogenboezem, there were clear synergies within the previous GAC Marine Logistics (GML) operations (formerly based in Spijkenisse in Rotterdam), and GAC-OBC logistics services (with offices in Rotterdam and Vlissingen).
GAC's regional logistics manager Gunnar Lundgren points out that, despite the current economic climate, GAC continues to expand its presence in Europe.
GAC Netherlands is the latest in a string of new office openings, which include Lille, Warsaw, Moscow, Oslo and Almaty and Aktau (Kazakhstan).
