SOME airlines have been in talks with Chongqing authorities to open cargo flights for laptops expanding the provincial-status metropolitan area's enormous trade in exporting laptop computers, reports Xinhua.

This year, Chongqing will produce 28 million laptops, most of which are for export. The production capacity stands at 30 million units a year. Chongqing will have a handling capacity of 120 million units, with 40 million expected from Hewlett Packard and another 40 million from Acer.

Among the negotiating airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Russia Air Bridge Cargo and Lufthansa German Airlines will take a share on Chongqing to Europe market, while Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and China Southern will take Chongqing computers to America while Singapore Airlines will service the southeast Asian market.

There will be daily flights to Europe, America and southeast Asia every day through June. By the end of this year, flights will leave twice daily.
