DHL Freight opens new facility in Ukraine

DHL Freight has opened a 20,000 square metre facility in the Ukraine to service eastern Europe and in particular Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.


The facility based near Kiev in the village of Kalinovka will provide 17 docking positions for trucks, a complete handling and storage area with video surveillance, electronic access control and intrusion systems for additional security.


Piotr M Sikorski, managing director of DHL Freight Poland & Ukraine said: "For DHL, the Ukraine is a market with huge development potential. We invested in the new facility to assure best-in-class transport and warehouse services for our current customers and to ready ourselves for the continued growth in the Ukraine and Eastern Europe overall."


The centre will link into DHL Freight's road freight network which connects Western Europe with Eastern Europe and the Middle East stretching from Austria to Russia and Poland up to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.


DHL Freight's services includes the complete range of LTL, PTL and FTL shipping options, professional customs clearance, dedicated industry sector solutions and specialist services covering all of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
