Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) in Texas has announced that air cargo volume in August fell 32 per cent year on year to 11.8 million pounds.
According to the Shipping Gazette, within this total, international air cargo dropped 12 per cent year-on-year to 309,081 pounds; Federal Express carried 8.2 million pounds, down 5.5 per cent and United Parcel Service moved 1.6 million pounds, declining 40 per cent.
Mail moving through the airport declined 30 per cent to 361,189 pounds while bellyhold was down 34 per cent to one million pounds during the month under review.
August passenger traffic fell seven per cent to 742,019 compared to August 2008, a statement from airport authorities said.
