Changi Airport Group establishes sister airports arrangement

Sep 14, 2009 Logistics

Changi Airport Group (CAG) announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA). The ‘sister airports’ arrangement was signed in Beijing by CAG Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lee Seow Hiang, and President and Chief Executive Officer of BCIA, Mr Dong Zhiyi.

In an increasingly competitive airport industry, the partnership provides a framework for the two airports to share information and knowledge, and to strengthen their relationship for mutual benefit.

Under the MOU, both parties will collaborate through joint projects, seminars and staff training in areas including airport management, air hub development, airport planning, commercial management and service quality evaluation. The exchange of secondees for on-the-job training is also envisaged.

Mr Lee said, “BCIA is an important hub airport and a key gateway to China. BothChangi and BCIA have much in common, including shared philosophies and beliefs in providing exceptional service and developing their air hubs. We believe this MOU sets a good foundation for Changi and BCIA to build upon and we look forward to closer collaboration with our Beijing counterpart.”
