Frequent flyer visitors can enjoy quicker immigration clearance

Sep 14, 2009 Logistics

Cathay Pacific Airways and Dragonair today announced that frequent flyer visitors who are members of the airlines’ Marco Polo Club can now enjoy quicker and more convenient immigration clearance at Hong Kong International Airport.

Effective from 7 September 2009, eligible Marco Polo Club members can pass more quickly through immigration using the Frequent Visitor e-Channels. This is a convenient self-service clearance facility where travellers do not need to fill in arrival or departure cards and the clearance process is streamlined.

The service is now available to all Marco Polo Club Silver tier and above members who must be aged 18 and above, in possession of valid travel documents and a multiple-visit visa for Hong Kong (if such a visa is required).

Marco Polo Club members eligible to use the service will have to enrol by presenting their Marco Polo Club membership card and travel documents in person at the Immigration Department Enrolment Office located in the Arrival Hall at Hong Kong International Airport. Enrolment is free of charge.

Katie Rowen, Marco Polo Club Manager with Cathay Pacific Loyalty Programmes, said: "We are always looking for new ways to provide even greater travel convenience for our Marco Polo Club members. I hope the invitation to use Hong Kong International Airport's Frequent Visitor e-Channel will provide our Silver tier and above members with a faster, seamless immigration experience when travelling to and from Hong Kong, our home."
