Garbe to build logistics centre

Garbe Logistic of Hamburg is investing EUR 12mn (USD 17.40mn) in the construction of a logistics building on a 33,000 sq.m area in Henstedt-Ulzburg. Kiel-based Caterpillar Motoren will set up a global spare parts distribution centre as well as a production logistics facility there. It will feature two 30-tonne cranes.

The building is to be completed by February 2010. Caterpillar will create 55 new jobs at the Henstedt-Ulzburg site, will serve the company's plants in Kiel and Rostock, Logistics Finland informed.
