Jun 22, 2009 Logistics

Cezary Grabarczyk, the Polish Minister of Infrastructure and Andrzej Wach, president of Polish Railways PKP SA, are currently on a visit to Beijing to discuss the potential cooperation between Polish and Chinese railway companies.

One of the debated issues concerns cooperation between PKP Cargo and China Rail, Polish Market Online reports referring to WNP. The Polish company, currently undergoing intense restructuring, is looking into using its potential as a logistics operator. The strategic aim is to transform PKP Cargo into an active goods carrier between Europe and Asia.

During this visit, cooperation between Polish and Chinese construction and design firms on modernising railways in Poland is to be examined. Possible cooperation in road, sea and air transport will be also discussed.
