CHINA's foreign trade in the first eight months rose 40 per cent year on year to US$1.88 trillion, said the General Administration of Customs (GAC) in a website statement.
Exports increased 34.4 per cent year on year to $139.3 billion while imports rose 35.2 per cent to US$119.27 billion, reported Xinhua.
Trade with the European Union, China's largest trading partner, jumped 36.2 per cent year on year to $305.81 billion in the same period; trade with the US climbed 32 per cent to $242.61 billion, while that with Japan rose 34.8 per cent to $186.89 billion during the period.
