Reporters learned from the preparatory meeting for the 6th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) that the previous five CAEXPOs yielded rich economic and trading outcomes. Over the previous five CAEXPOs, trading volume reached 6.517 billion USD, contracted international cooperation projects reached a total investment of 28.62 billion USD, and signed domestic cooperation projects had a total investment of 273.501 billion yuan.
Zheng Junjian, Secretary-General of the CAEXPO Secretariat, said that through the CAEXPOs, domestic enterprises China has been able to find new partners from ASEAN countries. During the 5th CAEXPO, the Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Company signed auto export contracts worth 60 million USD. The contracts represented one of the largest export sales at CAEXPO that year. Purchasing missions from Shanghai, Qingdao, Fujian and Xiamen and enterprises from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines reached a number of tentative purchasing agreements, indicating that achievements were made in that CAEXPO.
Co-sponsored by the departments in charge of economy and trade of China and the 10 ASEAN countries as well as the ASEAN Secretariat, the CAEXPO, also called the China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning, is an international grand trade event at state level. It is held annually in Nanning, Guangxi Province in China.
