In recent years, with the increase of the number of netizens, e-commerce driven mainly by online shopping has been developing rapidly.
According to Dr. Yuan Dengke, Deputy Director of the China E-Commerce Credit Research Center of the China Electronic Commerce Association, China's B2C (short for Business to Customer) e-commerce market in 2007 maintained a healthy growth.
B2C websites have achieved a total income of 5.22 billion yuan, up 33.5% from the previous year. And it is predicted that it will reach about 10 billion yuan in 2009.
In 2007, C2C (Customer to Customer) turnover was 41.04 billion yuan, up by 90% from the previous year, and it is predicted that C2C turnover may exceed 100 billion yuan in 2009.
B2C and C2C are the main forms of online shopping.
However, with the rapid development of online shopping, problems have also arisen. Data recently issued by the China Consumers' Association show that online shopping complaints have increased greatly.
In 2007, the growth rate of complaints was 25.8%, while in the first half of 2008 it had reached 53.2%, with a surprising jump.
Experts say that integrity issues in the online shopping market have already become a bottleneck that restricts the development of e-commerce.
In order to perfect the online shopping environment and accelerate the development of e-commerce, strengthening the building of online integrity is top priority.
