10 mln USD in card payments made in Beijing on August 8

According to the Information Times, card payments amounted to 10 million dollars in Beijing on August 8, the day of Olympic Games opening ceremony. The amount visitors paid by a Visa credit card, debit card and pre-paid card increased by 11% over the same period last year.

It is said that the highest payments were made by card holders in America, followed by Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea and England. Their consumption mainly focused on catering and accommodation and shopping, taking up half of total card payments.
