Finnish Tax Revenues Down in 2007

Jul 11, 2008 Trade

Finnish tax revenues stood at 43 percent of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) last year, down from 43.5 percent the year before, according to the revised data of Statistics Finland on Thursday.

The total accrual of taxes and compulsory social security contributions went up by 6.3 percent from the previous year and stood at 77.2 billion euros in 2007.

The explanation to the development in the tax ratio was that the public transfers grew more slowly than GDP and the accrual of taxes and compulsory social security contributions, said the statistics agency.
