Maersk reducing capacity at end of Morocco reefer season

May 28, 2008 Trade

Maersk is about to pull a ship from its North Europe/Morocco KNSM service as the Moroccan reefer season comes to an end.

From June 1, the KNSM will deploy two 860-TEU vessels, Maersk Ferrol and Maersk Fawley, instead of the current three vessels, on a 21-day round voyage of Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Casablanca, Agadir and Rotterdam. The vessel being dropped from the service is the 800-TEU Skirner.

Maersk Line is committed to the North European/Moroccan trade and we will ensure sufficient space throughout peak seasons. This entails a return to a three-vessel service during the period November-May, the Danish carrier said in a statement.
