MEMBER lines of Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) will levy a rage increase of US$250 per TEU and $500 per FEU from April 15 for all dry and refrigerated cargo from China to Australia.
Called a "rate restoration programme", the increase was needed "to maintain a high standard of service to customers", said the AADA in a notice to trade.
"This increase will apply in full on top of existing ongoing market rates and will be subject to accessorial surcharges applicable at the time of shipment," said the notice.
AADA comprises a group of 14 carriers, which include ANL, CSCL (HK), Cosco, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, Maersk, MSC, MOL, NYK, OOCL, Gold Star and Zim.
