THE value of trade carried by truck, rail and pipeline (surface transportation) between the US and its North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) partners of Canada and Mexico, rose by 13.8 per cent in December 2010 compared to the same month the previous year, amounting to US$66.5 billion.
According to the latest figures provided by the US Department of Transport's statistics bureau, the value of NAFTA trade in December decreased by 2.2 per cent compared to month previous due to seasonal variations and bad weather affecting many areas in the US, reports London's Containerisation International.
