The diversity of exhibitor profiles and product varieties at this month's 15th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) will be wider than ever before, ranging from the promotion of Taiwan foodstuffs to the showcasing of the world's latest printing machines, the Macao Post Daily reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper quoted Liu Shi-wei, managing director of the Taipei Trade Center in Hong Kong, as saying that 36 food enterprises from Taiwan will be joining the fair, hoping to ink deals with companies from Portuguese-speaking countries and elsewhere.
For the first time, the Taiwan Pavilion, organized by Liu's Center, will entirely be dedicated to Taiwan snacks, fruits, tea, dumplings, cakes and pastries.
"Besides the gorgeous sights, tourists' biggest impression of Taiwan is the food. Each town from north to south has its own delicacy, and tourists love our food and buy our food as souvenirs, " Liu said in a press gathering yesterday at the office of the Macao Trade and Promotion Institute (IPIM), which organizes the annual fair.
The fair that takes place on Oct. 21 to Oct. 24 at the Venetian will coincide with the 8th International Printing Products Fair, which will be held for the first time in Macao.
Macao Post Daily quoted Chao Sio Seong, President of the Macao Printing Association, as saying that the printing fair will include the participation of top international printing company executives as guest speakers.
