Turkish exports rose by 11.44 percent year-on-year in August 2010, reaching 8.56 billion U.S. dollars, Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) said Wednesday.
Turkey's exports in January-August period rose by 12.95 percent and amounted to 72.96 billion dollars, TIM said at a press conference held here on Wednesday.
It said that the ready-made-clothes and textile sector made the highest exports in August with 1.18 billion dollars, followed by the chemical products industry with 1.08 billion dollars and the automotive sector with an export figure of 1.05 billion dollars.
Turkey's major export products include vehicles, machinery, electrical and mechanical appliances, Iron and steel, articles of apparel and clothing accessories knitted.
