IMPORT and export volumes through Inner Mongolia, a Chinese autonomous region, were up 44.5 per cent to 23.4 million tonnes in the first half, reported Xinhua.
Inner Mongolia is upgrading inland port infrastructure to increase the trade with Russia, Mongolia and Eastern Europe. This includes highway expansion through border checkpoints in Erenhot, Baotou and Manzhouli, as well as development of boundary logistics services, customs supervision and trade across the international border.
