Alataw Pass trade value up 31.2pc in first five months

STATISTICS from the Alataw Pass customs checkpoint, on the China-Kazakhstan border, showed that as of June 5, value of the trade cargo handled by the port in this year totalled US$4.5 billion, up 31.2 per cent year on year, Xinhua reported.

Import value soared 104.1 per cent to $3.99 billion, while export value plunged 65.3 per cent to $512 million.
