Jiangsu trade value up 49.4pc, surpasses pre-downturn level

EASTERN China's Jiangsu province scored a trade value of US$135.9 billion during the first four months of this year, up 49.4 per cent year on year and 8.8 per cent higher compared to the same period in 2008, before the world economic crisis, Logistics Week reported.


Export value increased 40.2 per cent year on year and five per cent over 2008 to $76.6 billion. Import value surged 63.1 per cent year on year and grew 14.2 per cent over 2008 to $59.4 billion. Trade surplus fell five per cent year on year to $17.2 billion.
