CHONGQING'S trade value soared 59 per cent year on year in January to US$810 million, after a 10.6 per cent fall in December, Logistics Week reported.
Export value rose 43.6 per cent year on year to $470 million, but fell 9.5 per cent month to month. Import value soared 86 per cent year on year, but fell 12 per cent month to month to $340 million.
The city's trade with the European Union went 3.4 per cent up in value to $160 million. Value of trade with Japan surged 120 per cent to $110 million. Trade with US also rose substantially by 70.9 per cent to $110 million. Trade with ASEAN was the fastest growing with an increase of 140 per cent, to $90 million.
Value of products under general trade increased 68.5 per cent year on year to $710 million. Export value increased 44.9 per cent to $400 million. Import value surged 110 per cent to $310 million.
Products under processing trade went 47.3 per cent up to $70 million. Export value rose 37.3 per cent to $60 million. Import rocketed 130 per cent to $10 million.
