Chinese shares up 0.29% on Monday

Chinese equities rose on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.29 percent, or 9.09 points, to close at 3,122.97 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.74 percent, or 96.18 points, to close at 13,011.15 points. Combined turnover shrank to 143.01 billion yuan ($21.09 billion), from 196.97 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
