Chinese equities dived 2.36 percent Friday, led by declining heavy weights.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was down 2.36 percent, or 74.72 points, to close at 3,096.27 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index declined 3.09 percent, or 411.23 points, to close at 12,876.15 points.
Combined turnover shrank to 288.04 billion yuan ($42.17 billion) from 424.6 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
