French company wins China energy contract

France's Suez Environnement S.A. service provider has signed an agreement with China's Chongqing Energy Group, ChinaCSR reported Friday.

The report said the agreement provides for establishing a joint venture company in China.

According to the agreement, the joint venture's stated goals are to promote energy conservation, reduce emissions, improve energy utility efficiency and promote the use of renewable energy.

In a pilot program in Chongqing the joint venture will supply cooling, heating and hot water to the Danzishi and Jiefangbei central business districts.

Suez Environnement S.A. is one of the world's largest environmental services companies, with more than 1,000 cooling-supply and heating-supply investment programs worldwide.

Suez Environnement S.A. shares are listed on the Euronet exchanges in both Paris and Brussels.
