Eight miners trapped underground Monday by a flood in a graphite mine in central China's Hunan province were rescued Tuesday afternoon, a local government spokesman said Tuesday.
They were rescued at about 2:10 pm, he said.
The accident occurred around 6:00 pm Monday at Wangda Graphite Mine in Heye town, Guiyang county.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
