Compagnie Maritime Belge said its Bocimar International subsidiary has sold two capesize unit dry bulk ships.
The 173,999-deadweight-ton, 2006-built Mineral Libin was sold for $53 million. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled between August and April. A capital loss of $2 million will be taken up in the second quarter results of 2009.
The 1999-built Mineral Azalea (171,199 dwt) was sold for $45.1 million and generate a capital gain of more than $21 million. The delivery is scheduled to take place in the third quarter 2009.
The positive impact on the group’s cash position from the combined sales is $42 million.
