Freight employees allege logistics firm deprived them of compensation

Nine former employees of CEVA Transport filed a collective action under federal law for unpaid overtime compensation.

 

The suit alleges the international shipping management company required workers at its Ohio hub, which has since been closed, to work 10 or 12 hour days but paid them only standard wages. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Columbus, Ohio, also alleges CEVA did not maintain proper records of hours worked by its employees, as required by law.

 

“CEVA maintained a policy requiring its employees to work overtime each and every week, but refused to pay them as provided by federal law,” said David K. Stein of Stein Chapin & Associates, the law firm representing the plaintiffs.
