DHL has announced that it is enhancing its strategy concerning the levels of service and quality provided to customers in the life sciences and healthcare sector, following the recent launch of Deutsche Post DHL's Strategy 2015.

"Strategy 2015 aims to broaden DHL's leadership in the logistics sector by strengthening its cross-divisional collaboration in order to provide simplified and sustainable customer solutions, and identifies the growing life sciences and healthcare industry as a key focus sector," said Hermann Ude, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding and Freight, at the company's 9th Annual Life Sciences and Healthcare Global Conference in Miami, Florida.

"Because of the unique safety and regulatory requirements faced by the industry, its transportation and logistics needs require particularly rigorous levels of quality and competence in product handling. At the same time, the industry is increasingly turning to strategic partners for innovative solutions in order to support supply chain operations."

The three key components of the most recent enhancements to DHL's strategy are: hosting annual life sciences and healthcare global conferences that feature more than 30 workshops to work with customers in identifying and solving issues. Another aspect is to develop a fact base on customers by conducting studies. Furthermore, strengthening its cross-divisional collaboration to develop global best practices and processes along the logistics supply chain.
