CHENGLINGJI port near Hunan province's Yueyang City has completed its first Songyang Lake phase of reconstruction and delivers an annual container capacity of 300,000 TEU, reports Xinhua.
Chenglingji Port is situated on the right bank at the confluence of the Yangtze and Dongting Lake, northeast of Yueyang city proper.
Yueyang Chenglingji Port is one of the eight first class Yangtze harbours, and it is the only one so classed in Hunan, and has been ranked as one of the top 53 ports in China since 2004.
The port plans to build three berths which will be completed in three phases. The first has been completed with an investment of CNY650 million (US$95 million), covering an area of 597.8 acres. Three 3,000-tonne deep-water berths have been finished with an annual capacity of 300,000 TEU, four times more than what it was before.
