ORIENT Overseas Container Line (OOCL), Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha Ltd (TSK Line) and Cosco Container Lines have agreed to operate a new joint service, called the Middle East Express (MEX).
The service, to start on May 17, from Shanghai, will comprise five vessels of 7,500 TEU. OOCL and Cosco will provide two vessels each and TSK Line will provide one, a joint company statement said.
The port rotation for the MEX is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shenzhen (Shekou), Singapore, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
The new service will replace the current Middle East Asia Express Service (MAX) operated by OOCL and TSK Line, which operates five vessels of 5,500 TEU.
