Maersk hikes rates on intra Euromed, Asia-Europe routes

 

MAERSK Line has announced rate increases from Northern Europe to North Africa and the Mediterranean as well as from Asia to the Mediterranean.

On the intra Euromed route, southbound services from Northern Europe to North Africa to east and west on the Mediterranean will be EUR75 (US$100) per TEU effective May 15.

On the Asia-Europe route, westbound services from Asia to the Mediterranean to the east and west Med, Black Sea, North Africa and the Adriatic with be- US$250 per TEU from June 1.

Increases apply to all cargo and commodities, including reefers and special equipment, said Maersk.

Trading conditions are still subject to unacceptable rate levels and the situation is unsustainable. Rate increases are necessary to continue to operate our services with reliability, said the Maersk Line statement.
