Seminar on oil products quality control

Seminar Fuel and Lubricants for Ship Power Plants. Quality Control and Implementation of the Analysis Results in the RS Activities started today at the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) Personnel Training Centre. Representatives of testing laboratories from St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, the Far East region together with the RS specialists will consider the issues of quality control and testing (analysis) of oil products and oily waters as well as of compliance with statutory and national requirements.
The participants  will discuss the challenges of the establishment of a network of testing laboratories for fuel, lubricant, oil product cargo and oily waters. RS has been authorised by the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport to accomplish this task.
The Seminar is being held in cooperation with CNIIMF and testing laboratory Mortest Service.
Safe operation of engines and effectiveness of the pollution prevention depend on the quality of fuel. The high qualification of the specialists and the infrastructure allow RS to render assistance to shipowners in order to enhance the environmental safety standards.
