Gold Star Line Ltd (GSL), Hong Kong, has announced the launch of Bengal Myanmar Express (BMX), a direct feeder service between Myanmar, Malaysia and Singapore under a vessel-sharing agreement with Orient Express Lines (OEL), Exim News Service reported.
This service has the following port rotation: Port Klang (West Port), Singapore (PSA), Kolkata, Yangon (MITT), Port Klang (West Port).
BMX will be the only direct feeder service ex-Kolkata to Yangon, offering a new market for East India cargo. It will also offer excellent connections for cargo routed to other global destinations via transhipment at Port Klang and Singapore.
GSL and OEL will each deploy one vessel of 1,000-TEU nominal capacity in the service.
The joint service is scheduled to commence on April 4 with the calling of the OEL vessel Mare Balticum.
