A.P. Moller Singapore takes delivery of third 9,000-TEU ship

A.P. Moller Singapore on Feb. 18 received the third in a series of 9,000-TEU A-Type container vessels ordered from Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries.

The Maersk Alfirk is 323 meters (1,059 feet) in length with a beam of 45.6 meters (149.6 feet) and a depth of 22.8 meters (74.8 feet).

The vessel is fitted with a Wartsila NSD 12RT-FLEX96C engine giving a service speed up to 25.5 knots.
