And the winner is: NYK gives OSCAR to subsidiary T.S.K. Line

Feb 18, 2008 Shipping

Japan's NYK Group has rolled out its common information technology system One System Covers All Regions (OSCAR) to include the Asian liner services of its wholly owned subsidiary Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha Ltd.

T.S.K. Line has already started taking bookings through OSCAR with that cargo scheduled to be loaded from Feb. 18.

NYK uses the system for routes in Oceania, Europe and Central and South America. The worldwide inauguration of OSCAR is to be completed this summer with the addition of the North America region.

By expanding the scope of OSCAR, NYK now has a system that can not only provide rapid access to customers booking information and issue documents such as bills of lading but also can access credit information from anywhere in the world so that customers inquiries can be handled swiftly, NYK said in a statement.
