Miami-based Bernuth Lines said it is scaling back its planned bunker fuel surcharge increase, effective Feb. 17, to $30 per TEU, from $48.
The increase to $48 per TEU was originally announced Jan. 16. due to the expected downward trend in the price of fuel, we have decided to reduce the bunker surcharge increase to $30 per TEU,Bernuth said.
The surcharge applies to northbound and southbound shipments between the United States and the Caribbean destinations of Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Montserrat, Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent, Suriname and Trinidad.
