Hub Group reports record earnings

Hub Group said it had record profit of $18 million in the fourth quarter of 2007, a 33 percent increase over the $13.5 million it earned in the same 2006 period.

Revenue was $445.5 million in the quarter about 5 percent higher than the $425.5 million in the same 2006 period.

Given the current economic environment we are pleased with our operating results. We grew in all of our service lines and achieved operating margin of 5.7 percent compared to 5.2 percent last year, said David P. Yeager, vice chairman and chief executive officer.

For the full year, the company had profit of $59.8 million in 2007 compared to $48.7 million in 2006. Revenue was $1.66 billion, up from $1.61 billion in 2006.
