Hapag-Lloyd said Friday it will partner with Mediterranean Shipping Co. to double the frequency of its offering between ports in North Europe, Greece and Turkey.
The German carrier will from the start of next week operate two weekly European Express Services -- EEX 1 and EEX2 -- that will serve the ports of Izmir and Piraeus twice a week. Istanbul, Thessaloniki and Gemlik will be called once per week. In North Europe the ports of Felixstowe and Antwerp will be called on both services, while Le Havre in France will only be called on the EEX1. Sines in Portugal will only be a part of the EEX2 rotation.
From Antwerp and Le Havre, the ports of Bremerhaven, Hamburg and Liverpool will be served by a dedicated feeder service, Hapag-Lloyd said.
