MSC raises Europe-to-Asia rates

Mediterranean Shipping co., the world's second-biggest ocean carrier, said Tuesday it is instituting a general rate increase on cargo moving from Europe to the Far East and Middle East due to more demand for export cargoes.

Export cargo from Northwest Europe, Scandinavia and Baltic ports will see a rise of $50 per TEU and $100 per FEU for dry containers and $250 per TEU and $500 per TEU for reefer cargo, effective March 1.
