'K' Line links to partners with GT Nexus software

Feb 18, 2009 Shipping

JAPANESE shipping carrier K Line has signed a further agreement with IT services provider GT Nexus of California to build on its partnership of eight years, reports Logistics Insight Asia.

GT Nexus provides its carrier partners an integrated IT software to a portal once and then provides a single standardised interface to support several thousand customers around the world.

GT Nexus president John Urban said that his service allows carrier partners to access and manage a number of global supply chains. Big shipper customers view technology as a vital aspect of a carrier's service mix, he said.

Said K Line CEO Kazuhiro Matsukawa: We have seen tremendous operational value, and e-commerce leadership is something our customers see as a differentiator in the market.
