A new cooperation between the Grand Alliance and ZIM

The Grand Alliance and ZIM have agreed to cooperate in the Trans Pacific Trade in two of the Grand Alliance's strings. The scope includes North China and Japan, South China, South East Asia to Canada and US North West Coast (NWX and PNX).

ZIM will operate within the agreement in two phases. In the first ZIM will buy slots from the Grand Alliance and will terminate its own APX (Asia to Pacific North West) string. In the second phase ZIM will deploy 3 Mega ships of 8,000 and 10,000 TEUs. ZIM will phase in two Mega ships in July 2009 and one Mega ship in October 2009. 

By this cooperation with the Grand Alliance, ZIM is improving its service on the Asia- Pacific North trade and commences its deployment plan with the new Mega ships in July 2009.

The NWX and PNX rotation will be as follows:

NWX - Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Seattle, Vancouver, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe, and Ningbo

PNX - Singapore, Laem Chabang (~Bangkok), Shekou (~Shenzhen), Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Vancouver, Seattle, Busan, Kaohsiung,

Hong Kong, Shekou (~Shenzhen), Singapore.
