Hapag-Lloyd said it would continue the services it offers between Montreal and the Mediterranean despite Wednesday's announcement that its partner in the service, Senator Lines, plans to shut down at the end of the month.
Hapag-Lloyd will continue the service between Montreal and ports in the Mediterranean provided in cooperation with Senator Lines without any change, offering customers reliable, weekly departures, the company said.
Eight ships are used in two strings, and two vessels are contributed by Senator. The vessels deployed have capacities of 1,000 to 2,000 TEUs.
Hapag-Lloyd noted Hanjin Shipping said in a notice to the trade that it is investigating continuing the Canada/Med service with Hapag-Lloyd.
