Hanjin Shipping takes delivery of two 4,300TEU ships

Hanjin Shipping announced that it is taking delivery of two 4,300TEU ships, Hanjin Atlanta and Hanjin Gdynia, the 6th and 7th of a series of eight 4,300TEU vessels ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries in 2005.

These two state-of-the-art ships with fuel-efficient and eco-friendly engines are scheduled to be deployed in the company's Asia-U.S. and Far East-Red Sea services starting from April.

Attending the christening ceremony held today at Samsung Heavy Industries in Geoje Island, W.W. Lee, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive of Hanjin Shipping's Container Liner Business Unit, commented, Deploying these new ships will allow us to provide our customers with better services.He also added, Despite the current global economic recession and the instable shipping market, we will carry on our efforts to create optimal fleet as we have planned for our long-term growth.
